Ball State might have lost the game to Ohio U., 20-17, on Saturday. But the Cardinals picked up 2 new players via verbal committment after the game, giving Ball State 16 committments in the class of 2010.
Simon Kenton (KY) OG Jordan Hansel and Indianapolis Ben Davis DB Jeff Garrett both pledged to play next season for the Cardinals after the game ended.
Hansel, a 6-4 280 OG, had only an offer from Ball State, but had gained interest from Louisville and others during a solid Sr. campaign.
Garrett, a 5-10 165 DB who originally committed this summer to Northern Illinois, changed his mind and chose the Cardinals over offers from the Huskies, Akron, and the Bobcats of Ohio.
Stay tuned to BallStateInsider.com as we tracking down both of these young men to talk about their decision.
